Tara and Eric

So beautiful and natural. Tara and Eric are a stunning couple and both ever so charming and fun to hang with. They're playful and happy and it made for a fun-filled and comfortable day.

Tara chose an incredibly romantic setting for their engagement portraits. We spent the afternoon at the oasis that is Shattuck St. Mary's school. It's a beautifully romantic location with the ornate and historic chapels and other regal structures. My favorite is the grand stone arch entrance, it looks so strong and impressive. We started there and then it was off to the warmth of Shumway Hall. Because like many of our recent engagement shoots, it was ridiculously cold outside!

Michael could quite possibly win fiance of the year award. He agreed to shoot engagement portraits during one of the last Vikings games this season. Of course, we all know how the magical and exciting season ended, but when we shot, there was still a lot of fans hoping that this year would be the year.

Besides being the day of a really big game, it was freezing outside!

Jeana and Ben's engagement shoot

Last Sunday was a beautiful day to shoot some engagement portraits outside. The weather was cooperating... which is a big deal when it's January in Minnesota. Jeana and Ben love the snow and love winter. It was perfect. I've known Ben since he was a baby... (he's my nephew) I met Jeana a little more recently! Getting to know them as a couple has been a joy. They are good for each other. You can see it in their eyes when you're with them. As the infamous line in the movie Jerry McGuire goes: They complete each other. Ok, I realize, I just aged myself with that movie reference, but being around these two is uplifting and brings a smile to your face and you can see they've got what it takes to make it in this world... together.

Jeana mentioned at the beginning of their shoot that she wanted a picture of their tattoos. Now, I like tattoo's as much as the next guy, but I really love them when they mean something... and when I asked her if there was anything special about the puzzle pieces, she said instantly with a smile and a wink, "He's my missing piece!" Awwww, how adorable is that?! ... and this is why I say: they complete each other.

Congrats you two. Can't wait for your big day, thanks for letting me be a part of it in such a special way. You two are going to share many, many wonderfully happy years together.

Mindy and Aaron

It's been a long time coming, but I have to give Aaron and Mindy a shout out here on the ol' blog. They're one of those couples that you meet and instantly know there is something special about them.

Theirs was one of the happiest, silliest, most beautiful days we've been blessed to be a part of. Mindy is sweet and kind and beautiful. Aaron is outgoing, funny and the life of the party. You can see it in his eyes, Mindy is the love of his life.

They are perfect together.

Can't wait to see you guys again, looking forward to Brandi's wedding next June!
